The day of mourning has been announced in Moscow

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced on July 16 in the afternoon of mourning for those who died in a disaster in the Moscow metro. Culture institutions are proposed to cancel entertainment events on the day of mourning.

On the morning of July 15, a large accident occurred between the stations "Victory Park" and "Slavyansky Boulevard" of the blue branch of the Moscow metro, three wagons came off the rails. According to ITAR-TASS , 22 people were killed, there are 141 victims in the city's hospitals.

As reported on the website of the Moscow Department of Culture, the head of the department Sergey Kapkov ordered to cancel all entertainment events in cultural institutions on July 16 or replace them with spiritual and educational.

All events in cultural institutions on the day of mourning will begin with a minute of silence.

In July, many cultural institutions of the city of Moscow - theaters, children's art schools and cultural centers - are mainly closed or do not conduct active activities. Now in the city there are seven theaters subordinate to the Department of Culture. All the performances planned for July 16 are dramatic, before the start of them, the memory of those who died in the tragedy in the Moscow Metro will be postponed with a minute of silence.
