The lawyer bankrupt Yukos received eight years in absentia

The Gagarinsky District Court of Moscow in absentia sentenced the former Yukos lawyer Natalya Lechbinskaya, who was engaged in legal support for the bankruptcy of the company, by eight years of the colony. This was reported by RAPSI. A fine of 400 thousand rubles was imposed as an additional punishment of Lychbinskaya.

As Interfax clarifies , the lawyer was found guilty of part 4 of Article 159 (fraud committed by an organized group or on an especially large scale), part 4 of Article 160 (assignment or embezzlement made by an organized group or on an especially large scale) and part 2 of Article 174.1 of the Criminal Code (washing the money received by criminal means).

In 2009, Lychbinskaya disappeared from law enforcement officers. Since then, it has been on the international wanted list.

The lawyer tried to be prosecuted since 2008. Her bureau "Lifshits, Lechbin and partners" advised subsidiaries of Yukos-the Yukos-M and Yukos-RM trading house. It was approved that legal assistance contracts for these firms were concluded at high prices, and the services were not actually provided. Meanwhile, Lychbinskaya herself stated that her persecution is unreasonable, and the excited business is of a custom nature.

Yukos was declared bankrupt on August 1, 2006, having considered the application of the syndicate of foreign banks, which the company owed about $ 500 million. Later, this debt was bought by Rosneft. The total amount of tax claims to the company amounted to 995 billion rubles.

As part of the bankruptcy procedure, the court estimated the debt of Yukos at 710 billion rubles. Most of these debts, with the exception of 76 billion rubles, were repaid from the funds proceeds from the sale of the company's assets.

Former General Director of Yukos-RM Anatoly Nazarov in 2013 received three years on the same case with a fine of 50 thousand rubles.
