The court of St. Petersburg filed claims for violations in the organization of municipal elections

A number of claims were filed in the Vyborg District Court of St. Petersburg with a demand to recognize violations when organizing elections in the municipality of Parnas. This was reported to the "faces" one of the unregistered candidates Dmitry Ostryakov.

In the Parnas election commission, not a single candidate of a nominee, as well as candidates from parties presented in the Legislation of St. Petersburg, including United Russia, could register for almost three weeks.

From June 16 to June 26, information on the appointment of elections was not published, and the municipality website did not work. Then the building of the local administration, where documents from potential candidates should be accepted, turned out to be closed from the inside. In the last days of receiving documents, strong young people blocked the entrance to the election commission. The head of the municipal council, Alexei Cherezov, explained that they all came to register as candidates.

The police not only did not contribute to resolving this conflict, but also participated in it, says Ostryakov. One day, police officers launched people into the election commission only on the lists compiled by the election of the election commission.

As a result, in Parnassus, 31 candidates were registered with 20 seats in the municipal council. These included five current municipal deputies and employees of the local administration.

About problems with registration, those who wanted to participate in the elections were reported to the St. Petersburg election commission, the CEC of Russia, the Legislative Assembly, the prosecutor's office. Last week, unregistered candidates held pickets in front of Smolny and the City Prosecutor's Office.

On July 9, the head of the CEC of Russia, Vladimir Churov, addressed the prosecutor of St. Petersburg with a letter about violations in Parnassus and a number of other municipalities of the city. Churov noted that the actions of officials of the election commission of municipalities can be regarded as the obstruction of the free exercise by citizens of their electoral rights. He reminded that responsibility is provided for this under Article 141 of the Criminal Code. However, even after Churov’s intervention, the problem was not resolved.

Elections of 106 out of 111 municipalities of St. Petersburg will be held on a single voting day on September 14. At the same time, the election of the governor of St. Petersburg will be held. On June 24, Vedomosti reported that the governor's election will not be a single opposition candidate . The Communists refused to support the candidate of Fair Russia Oksana Dmitriev. The Presidium of the Central Committee of the Communist Party supported the nomination by the candidate in the elections of the governor of the city parliament, Irina Ivanova. This means that municipal deputies from the Communist Party will not give their signatures to Dmitrieva, which the Socialist -Revolutionaries achieved.
