Marvel, which owns the rights to comics about the Scandinavian god Torah, announced that in the next continuation of the series the main character will become a woman, the Russian BBC service reports.

"The new female character of Thor continues our tradition, in which Captain Marvel, Storm and a Black Widow appeared," the statement on the Marvel website said. It is also noted that this is not a temporary change in the floor: "Now this is one only Thor, it is fully consistent with the image."

“This is not a woman Thor and this is not a lady. This is not a Torita. This is a torus. The only real trap of our Universe, and she has nothing to do with what happened before,” said the creator of the character Jason Aaron.

The new “paper” comic with Tom-woman will be published in October this year.

A comic about a mighty God, whose main weapon was a magic hammer, first appeared in 1962. The American version of Torah was very freely treated by Scandinavian mythology, boldly interwoven with modernity.

The comics became world famous after his film adaptation in Hollywood in 2011. According to the Imagine Games Network news site, in 2011 Thor took 14 place in the list of 100 best comic book characters of all time.
