Another explanation was given by the Echo of Moskvy radio station, Director General of OTR Anatoly Lysenko, who stated that Sheremet was leaving due to the expiration of the contract, and excluded the political reasons for the departure of the host.

“The general director of the OTR was tortured with letters from the presidential administration as it were, with a request to deal with the public signals about the“ Russophobe ”of Sheremet. - explains the journalist. “Therefore, I decided not to substitute a new and still weakly standing television channel and wrote a statement about leaving.”

Under the “public signals”, Sheremet means, in particular, the publication in Izvestia on June 23. In it, “representatives of the southeastern regions of Ukraine, which created the socio-political association“ People’s Front ”(NF)” expressed dissatisfaction with the “activities of the Russian TV journalist, the former leading the Vremya weekly analytical program on the“ First Channel of Pavel Sheremet ”.

The material refers to letters with a request to understand the anti -Russian activities of the journalist and take measures that the chairman of the Executive Committee of the Popular Front, Alexander Zinchenko, sent Anatoly Lysenko, as well as to the chairman of the Union of Russian Journalists Vsevolod Bogdanov.
