Patriarch Kirill in Sergiev Posad registered a pilgrim and received a bicycle

The Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill on Thursday visited tent towns deployed on the Annunciation Field of Sergiev Posad. There were pilgrims participating in the celebration of the 700th anniversary of Sergius of Radonezh.

At the departure from the tent of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Primate, members of the All-Russian motorcycle club “Night Wolves” welcomed, who presented him with the icon of Sergius of Radonezh, written for the 700th anniversary of the saint, reports the Interfax-religion portal with reference to the information of the website of the Moscow Patriarchate.

Then the Patriarch moved to the tent town arranged by the Ministry of Defense. He registered at the program of registration of pilgrims, having received the form of the organizer, a pilgrim card and a pass, after which he talked with the volunteers providing assistance in organizing the celebrations, and blessed the participants in the bicycle race Nizhny Novgorod - Sergiev Posad.

Participants in the bike racket handed the patriarch the icon with the image of St. Sergius of Radonezh and Seraphim of Sarov, and a bicycle.

On the eve of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, personally heading the procession from the walls of the Pokrovsky Convent in the Moscow Region Khotkovo, where the parents of St. Sergius found the place of repose to the Annunciation Field in the Sergiev Posad.

29 thousand believers have already arrived in the Sergiev Posad district for the celebration, of which 4240 people are in the town of pilgrims in the Blagoveshchensk field, 820 volunteers provide assistance to them.

The Russian military erected a tent town equipped with all necessary for the placement of tens of thousands of pilgrims at the Trinity-Sergius Lavra. Hundreds of volunteers help pilgrims.

On Wednesday, 80 military cooks prepared pilgrims in field kitchens of more than five tons of fish soup and more than two tons of buckwheat and rice, more than three thousand liters of army tea with sugar and give out 6.6 tons of black and white bread. The military field dining room will also provide believers with the necessary amount of disposable dishes and trays, the press service and information of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation told reporters.
