Human rights activists ask to prevent the transfer of Yevgeny Vitishko to a general regime colony

Well-known Moscow human rights activists Andrei Babushkin and Valery Borshchev, Yabloko leader Sergei Mitrokhin and Krasnodar public figures Mikhail Savva, Andrei Rudomakha and Semyon Simonov appealed to the director of the Federal Penitentiary Service Gennady Kornienko with a request to prevent the transfer of Evgeny Vitishko to a general regime colony (OVD- Info). The appeal notes that the well-known ecologist Yevgeny Vitishko, who is in the Tambov colony-settlement, is receiving disciplinary sanctions. This may result in the transfer of Vitishko from a colony-settlement to a general regime colony. In fact, according to the authors of the appeal, the reason for the penalties is the ecologist's public appeals dedicated to the illegal actions of the administration of the colony-settlement in which he is now located.
