
Denis Pushilin, chairman of the Supreme Council of the self -proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, was dismissed on Friday evening, as Interfax told, of his own free will. This was stated by the Vice Speaker of the DPR Parliament Vladimir Makovich.
According to him, Denis is now in Moscow. He sent a letter in the name of Makovich with a request to withdraw from his position of his own free will. At the Council session, this issue was posed for voting. “The deputies supported Pushilin’s resignation,” said the vice speaker. Makovich said that he is now fulfilling the duties of the speaker of the parliament.
After the proclamation of the Donetsk People’s Republic in April 2014. Since May 11, 2014 he held the post of chairman of the Supreme Council of the DPR. Since mid -June, it has been in Moscow. On July 15, deputies from the Novorossiya party initiated the speaker’s resignation process, but then their proposal did not gain sufficient number of votes.
