The green theater will open at VDNH

In early August, at the festival in honor of the 75-year anniversary of VDNH, the Green Theater will open there again.

The concert hall with an open -air amphitheater was built in 1958. The Green Theater contained up to five thousand people, on its stage were the Pyatnitsky choir, the ensemble of Leonid Utesov, Joseph Kobzon and other stars of the Soviet stage.

After the collapse of the USSR, the theater came into desolation, the building was dilapidated, by the beginning of the 2000s , many trees grew between the ranks of the audience seats. At the end of last year, it was reported that the Ministry of Culture will transfer the theater to the circus platform.

On the occasion of the new opening of the Green Theater at VDNH, a free music festival will be held there. On August 1, visitors are awaiting a classic and jazz program, among the participants the Symphony Orchestra “Russian Philharmonic”, Nino Katamadze, “Dunaevsky Orchestra”, Optimystica Orchestra and Evgeny Fedorov.

On August 2, Boris Grebenshchikov and Aquarium group, Evgeny Margulis and Maxim Leonidov will take part in the rock concert on the stage of the theater. The program on August 3 is dedicated to World Music , Peter Nalit, Sevara Nazarkhan and the MGZavrebi group will perform at the Green Theater.
