Udaltsov and Razvozhaev are found guilty

Judge of the Moscow City Court Alexander Zamashnyuk recognized the coordinator of the Left Front Sergey Udaltsov and his assistant Leonid Razvozzhaev guilty of the crimes he imputed, the Grana Correspondent from the courtroom reports. The announcement of the sentence continues. The faces are conducting a twitter broadcast from the meeting.

“The victory will only be behind us - for the free citizens of Russia,” Udaltsov told reporters before the announcement of the sentence. A coordinated picket was held at the court building, in which about 20 people participated. They chanted "Freedom of Udaltsov and Razvoszhaev!" Later at the gate, single pickets began in support of the accused.

Udaltsov and Razvozhaeva was charged with the preparation for the organization of riots (part 1 of Article 30, part 1 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code) and the organization of riots on May 6, 2012 on Bolotnaya Square in Moscow (part 1 of Article 212). In addition to this, Razvoszhaev also incriminated the illegal crossing of the state border (part 1 of Article 322). The charge requested eight years of general regime for Udaltsov and Razvozhaev . The prosecutor also demanded a fine of 150 thousand rubles under Article 322 to Razvozhaev.

In the last word on July 9, the defendants stated that the case against them was politically motivated in order to intimidate civil society. Udaltsov, in addition, emphasized that he and Razvozhaev occupy a “patriotic position” in relation to events in Ukraine and “fully support the will of the inhabitants of Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk, like most of the protest movement.” Therefore, the leader of the left front noted, the arguments of prosecutors who declared that the activities of the defendants would have turned into a Ukrainian script for Russia, are insolvent.

The speeches of Udaltsov and Razvozhaev Zamashnyuk in one form or another interrupted more than 30 times . The judge compared Udaltsov’s speech to the “rally, slogans and calls”.

Protests at the Moscow City Court:

At the process, which began in February, the key witness was the former activist of the Left Front, Konstantin Lebedev, previously sentenced in the same case to 2.5 years in a general regime colony. He spoke in detail in the court about the financial relations of the defendants of the Left Front and the Georgian parliamentarian Givi Targamadze, but he noted that they were preparing not riots, but a peaceful perpetual standing in the square with tents.

The testimonies of several dozen police officers who went through the “swamp business” in the status of victims and witnesses often did not contain any information about the defendants, but indicated the coordination of the rally participants on May 6, allegedly breaking through to the Kremlin. Witnesses of the defense, in turn, pointed out the chaotic and mainly peaceful actions of the demonstrators, as well as the fact that Udaltsov called only to the sitting on the asphalt in protest against the narrowing of the rally, but not to violent actions.

According to the prosecution, the Left Front prepared new participants in the riots in summer camps in Lithuania. Witnesses showed that these camps were just a platform for historical and political lectures and discussions. The basis of the criminal case was a video of the meeting of four people, whom the investigation considered Udaltsov, Razvozzhaev, Konstantin Lebedev and Yuri Aimaletinov, with Targamadze in Minsk. In the video, people discuss plans for financing and organizing protests, drink wine, many shocking ideas perceive with a common laughter. The record was shown in the program "Anatomy of Protest-2" to NTV, the author of the program stated in court that the disk with the video was handed over to the Unknown Caucasian on the street.

After the show of the transfer in October 2012, Razvoszhaev tried to receive a political execution in Kyiv, but was stolen and taken to Russia, where the Investigative Committee arrested him. Leonid signed a confession, which he subsequently refused. Konstantin Lebedev was also arrested, Sergey Udaltsov was taken on a recognizance not to leave, and later under house arrest. Aimaletdinov took place in the case in the status of a witness. Lebedev pleaded guilty, gave accusations to colleagues, was convicted and released on parole in the spring of 2014.
