The Ukrainian authorities decided to expel from the country the 35-year-old subject of the United Kingdom of Graham William Philips, who collaborated with the Russian English-language television channel RT (former Russia Today). This was reported by Interfax with reference to the Security Service of Ukraine.
They reported that the British was acquainted with the decision of the SBU on expulsion outside the country and ban the entrance to its territory for three years. The agency does not report anything about the reasons for such a decision of the Ukrainian special services.
Graham was one of two journalists who, according to representatives of the self -proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, disappeared on the evening of July 22 in the Donetsk Airport area, where they were shooting in close proximity to the positions of the Ukrainian army. His colleague Vadim Aksenov, working on the East Ukrainian Information Agency Anna News, was later found .
Graham has been working in Ukraine for several months as a freelance employee RT. On May 16, he reported that he had fallen under fire. And on May 20, he was detained at a block depot in Mariupol by fighters of the National Guard and questioned, after which he was taken to Kiev and - after the application of diplomatic efforts - transferred to the British consul .
Nevertheless, after this incident, Graham decided to stay and continue to work in Ukraine.
