Ukraine will limit the import of Russian books

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Ukrainian Government, Alexander Sych, said that Ukraine intends to introduce the licensing of Russian book products and quotes a foreign book.

He also said that in connection with the decision of the government on the introduction of sector sanctions against products produced in Russia, he proposed imposing sanctions regarding Russian -made books, Interfax reports.

“We will introduce the licensing of a Russian book and quoting a foreign book, depending on how much percent of the Ukrainian book occupies in the market. This applies not only to the Russian book, but of import books as a whole, ”said Sych today, July 28, at a press conference in Kyiv.

He is convinced that it is necessary to protect the Ukrainian book from excessive Russian imports, since today 80% of books in Ukraine are not Ukrainian, almost all of this volume is Russian production.

“I am far from saying that the whole Russian book is bad. The question is that everything that goes to the Ukrainian market has a third -rate character. We are like an information landfill, into which they discard what Russian society does not need, plus, drop a special product aimed at destabilizing the situation in Ukraine, ”said Deputy Prime Minister.
