“It is no coincidence that these materials were posted on Twitter, since their authenticity in the absence of an accurate location reference and extremely low resolution cannot be established. Not to mention using them as “photo evidence,” RIA Novosti quotes the words of the official representative of the department, Major General Igor Konashenkov.

According to him, the same documents were previously provided by Kyiv. The agency’s interlocutor recalled that on Friday, Ukrainian Defense Minister Valeriy Geletey “tried to sensationalize” the same photographs. “This scheme is called an information carousel,” Konashenkov added.

The Ministry of Defense believes that such “fakes” are being prepared by a group of American advisers “registered in the Kiev building of the SBU, under the leadership of General Randy Key.”

On Sunday, July 27, the US State Department published images that, as stated in Washington, indicate shelling of eastern Ukraine from Russian territory. An American diplomat published four photographs taken this week. He claims that they depict Russian artillery positions, multiple launch rocket systems and the consequences of artillery shelling for the Ukrainian military unit that fell under it.

Last week, US officials said Russia was increasing its military presence on the border with Ukraine. According to them, we are talking about 15 thousand military personnel.

The Russian Ministry of Defense denied this information. “To clarify the situation, we consider it necessary to once again remind our overseas colleagues that in addition to social networks, from which they today, as we know, obtain most of the intelligence data about the Russian Armed Forces, there are other sources of information, the reliability of which is beyond doubt,” - stated in the department.
