Lev Ponomarev: human rights movement in Russia is eliminated

New laws are left without the means of existence by Russian non -profit organizations engaged in human rights. According to the head of the movement “For Human Rights” Lev Ponomarev, this means the elimination of human rights movement in Russia.

“Tomorrow the president will sign a decree on the allocation of presidential grants to public organizations. - Ponomarev writes on his blog on the website of the Echo of Moscow radio station. “In the decree, you need to look, first of all, at the list of operators - distributors of grants among NPOs.”

According to the informed source, Ponomarev notes, the “civil dignity” does not fall into this list - the operator of the NCO grants, who, after the introduction of the law on “foreign agents”, massively supported the NGOs with presidential money and played the role of a pillow for human rights organizations that refused foreign funds.

“But the president does not intend to save their lives from now on,” the human rights activist believes.

He also notes that the Ministry of Justice has prepared a draft law that authorities interrupt all communication with any active NPO, entered into the register of “foreign agents”. Thus, "thousands of Russian citizens, whose rights are now at least somehow defending NPOs, will be given to the tenderness of the corrupt Russian bureaucracy."

“The circle closes. If NPOs take foreign money, respectively, stamps a “foreign agent” and becomes legally invisible to any state structures. ...
