The United States imposed sanctions against the Bank of Moscow, VTB and Rosselkhozbank

The United States imposed sectoral sanctions against the Bank of Moscow, VTB and Rosselkhozbank. This was reported on the website of the American Ministry of Finance. Citizens and enterprises of the United States are prohibited to provide these banks with loans and purchase their property for a period of 90 days.

The sanctions were also imposed against one Russian defense enterprise - the United Shipbuilding Corporation.

The list of companies against which sector sanctions have been imposed was adopted on July 16 . Then Vnesheconombank, Gazprombank, Rosneft, Novatek, eight defense enterprises, Theodosia oil company, as well as the Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics fell under the sanctions.

Earlier on Tuesday , sectoral sanctions against Russia were introduced by the European Union . European sanctions affect the energy and financial industries, as well as the production of military and dual -use products. However, they will not affect the contracts for the supply of military products. This was insisted by France, which intends to sell to Russia the Mistral helicopter carriers.
