University graduates without work experience are ready to hire 70% of Russian companies. These are the results of a sociological survey conducted by the Superjob research center among 1000 representatives of employing companies.
The most loyal attitude towards graduates of universities is demonstrated by large companies with a regular number of more than 1000 employees. 82% of them are ready to consider young specialists as applicants. The smaller the company, the less often its representatives talked about the possibility of hiring yesterday's graduates. However, in small organizations, the probability of getting to an interview has young specialists: 60% of enterprises with less than 50 people are ready to consider such candidates. This situation is logical: it is precisely the companies of large business that can afford investment in education - to contain entire departments specializing in personnel training, to pay mentoring.
What are attractive to yesterday's university graduates for employers? First of all, purposefulness, hard work, readiness for training and development: “If a person has real potential, then it is better to take a student even to work than a“ specialist ”with a 10-year experience who is incapable of anything without clues and explanation of motivation”; “To ordinary positions ... It is better to take a competent, purposeful student without experience than a person with experience, but without a desire to develop, it is very difficult to achieve any actions that go beyond the usual work from such people.”
The main complaint against young specialists from employers who do not want to employ them is a low level of education: “Ground illiteracy reigns in the heads of graduates ...” categorically refuse to consider applicants without experience of 21% of companies.
Comparing the results of the study with how recruiters answered our question earlier, it can be noted that today's university graduates are easier to get to work than graduates of the 2009 post -crisis. 5 years ago, young specialists hired only 54% of companies. Polls of recent years testify to stabilizing the situation: in 2012, young specialists hired 71%of companies, in 2013 - 72%, and in the current - 70%.
What positions are open to yesterday's graduates? 25% of companies gain young specialists primarily for the positions of sales managers and customer work specialists. The positions of assistants of various specialists offer 19% of employers university graduates. This is one of the most successful career starts to get a job as an assistant in the profile of the education.
In 13% of companies for young specialists, the position of the dispatcher is opened. 11% of employers accept university graduates for the position of a sales consultant. Every tenth employer determined for such candidates “initial, starting positions”. 9% of companies offer graduates the position of secretary, 8% - engineer, office manager and accountant, 6% - qualified worker. 4% of companies are waiting for graduates of technical and IT worships for the position of a programmer. The positions of the HR manager and designer are available to young specialists in 3% of companies. Graduates of legal and medical universities open the door of 2% of organizations.
However, far from always the employers are seriously related to university “crusts”, offering yesterday's students who do not require 5-year training at the university. 4% of employers are ready to accept yesterday's students in the positions of maintenance personnel and handymen: waiters, bartenders, movers and storekeepers, 2% as couriers, cashiers, lending specialists, etc.
How much such proposals correspond to the aspirations of the graduates themselves is an ambiguous issue. For example, in the production sector, starting from the position of a worker and growing to an engineer is not considered shameful. Many stars of the restaurant business began with the lower classes. In good companies, they seek to get into any, even the lowest positions, hoping to prove themselves and grow further. So the employers, commenting on their answers, have repeatedly noted that the university “crust” is still a necessary attribute of career growth and it is almost impossible to break into leading positions without a diploma.
