The ECHR awarded Nemtsov 28.5 thousand euros for arrest after the strategy-31 campaign

The ECHR ordered Russia to pay 28.5 thousand euros to the leader of the RPR-Parnas Boris Nemtsov for the detention of strategy-31 shares in December 2010 and the subsequent administrative arrest. The decision is published on the court website. 26 thousand euros Nemtsov were awarded as compensation for moral damage, and the remaining 2.5 thousand in reimbursement of legal costs. At the same time, the applicant himself estimated the moral damage of 50 thousand euros, and legal costs - at 100 thousand rubles.

As stated in the decision of the Strasbourg Court, Russia violated Article 11 (freedom of assembly and associations), paragraph 1 of Article 6 (the right to fair trial), paragraph 1 of Article 5 (the right to freedom and personal integrity), as well as Article 3 (prohibition of torture) and 13 (the right to an effective means of legal protection) of the European Convention.
