Russian Libertés opposed the issuance of the Russian Federation to human rights activist Kobryakov

"There is no extraction of Nikolai Kobryakov, one of the creators of the Russie Libertés association and human rights fighter, to Russia" - a petition under such a heading was distributed on Wednesday in the evening on July 30 on the Internet, the Activists of the French Human Rights Association Russie Libertés ("Russia Liberties"). About 300 people have already put their electronic signatures under the petition.

According to representatives of Russie Libertés, their colleague, entrepreneur and human rights activist Nikolai Kobryakov, a citizen of France and Russia, was detained on July 29 at Sofia Airport. The request for his arrest through Interpol was submitted by the Russian authorities. The association emphasizes that the motives of the Russian request are not yet known, but whatever they may be, in the case of extradition, Kobroakov can become another political prisoner to Russia. Given the current situation in the field of human rights in Russia, he can hardly count on a fair and impartial court, they note in Russie Libertés.

The Association turns to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria Christian Vigenin with a request not to extradite Nikolai Kobryakov to Russia, since there are no guarantees that the norms stipulated by the European Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms will be observed there. Russie Libertés asks the French authorities to engage all diplomatic levers to prevent the issuance of Kobryakov in Russia, the Radio Liberty correspondent Natalya Kanevskaya reports.
