Deputies want to place warnings on the dangers of fast food on the packages of burgers

State Duma deputies from the LDPR faction Igor Lebedev, Yaroslav Nilov and Andrei Svintsov proposed placing images on the packages of fast food, warning about the dangers of fast food. Parliamentarians are already preparing amendments to the laws "On Advertising", "On Protection of Consumer Rights" and other regulatory legal acts, Izvestia reports.

Advertising fast food and packaging in fast food restaurants should contain preventive information about the dangers of such products, the authors of the initiative say. In their opinion, it is necessary to borrow the practice of placing frightening pictures on cigarette packs of frightening pictures so that visitors to fast food restaurants know about the dangers of fast food. The abuse of him, according to deputies, threatens with obesity, causes damage to the internal organs, lung disease, heart, kidneys, liver.

The retail chains opposed the initiative of parliamentarians. “We are categorically against,” said Ksenia Dender, representative of the Burger Club Development Department, which expressed the opinion that the equating fast food with alcohol and tobacco is an excess measure.

Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor discovered disabilities for the quality of products in the Russian network of restaurants "McDonald's. In particular, in milk mixtures used for the preparation of ice cream and cocktails, an antibiotic chloramphenicol was found.

The supervisory authority appealed a few days ago to the Tver court of Moscow with a demand to ban the sale of a number of food products at McDonald's after identifying significant violations in two restaurants of the network in Veliky Novgorod.

In addition, on July 30, it became known that the State Duma deputy, a member of the LDPR party, Roman Khudyakov sent a request to Rospotrebnadzor with a request to check the quality of food products in the fast food chains KFC and Burger King.
