Alexander Shmelev: “In order to offer to negotiate, we need to formulate some demands”

"NOT ONCE did Strelkov and Borodai, nor Prokhanov and Prosvirnin, nor Putin and Surkov announce: we are talking about the territory of such and such districts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Or about all these regions entirely. Or about anything else intelligible and limited by any limits.

On the contrary: time after time, supporters of the “Russian Spring” declared their claims to either 9 Ukrainian regions, or 13, or to replace the entire Kyiv government, or to the entire territory of Ukraine with the exception of three regions, or generally to destroy Ukraine as a state.

Almost every report from the “militia” camp emphasizes: on tanks and shells they write “to Kyiv,” “to Lvov,” and so on.”
