Gazprom will not sell Echo Moscow

Gazprom-Media media holding refused to sell its share in the Echo of Moscow radio station (66%) to minority shareholders.

The editor-in-chief and co-owner of Echo of Moscow, Alexei Venediktov, informed ITAR-TASS that today, on August 6, he learned about this at a meeting with the chairman of the Gazprom-Media board, Mikhail Lesin, at which the issue of raising the radio station was raised.

“Mikhail Lesin, as the head of the majority shareholder, said that Gazprom-Media does not intend to sell his share in Echo of Moscow. The meeting was informal in nature, so we have not yet received official notifications for a request for the search for an appraiser, ”Venediktov said.

The fact that the minority shareholders of Echo of Moscow, including the editor-in-chief of Alexei Venediktov (about 33.3% are owned by a total of 33.3%), will send Gazprom-Media a proposal for about 66.6% of the radio station, became known in early July.

On July 25, at a meeting of shareholders of Echo of Moscow, Venediktov proposed choosing an appraiser to determine the cost of a radio station for buying off.
