Canada expanded sanctions against Russia

Canada imposed new sanctions against Russian and Crimean legal and individuals. According to Radio Liberty, the list is published on the website of the Prime Minister of Canada. Russian banks VTB, Rosselkhozbank, Bank of Moscow and the Russian National Commercial Bank fell into the sanctions list.

The sanctions of the Canadian government also relate to the Russian "United Shipbuilding Corporation" and the airline "Dobrolet".

The list included the Crimean manufacturers of the New Light and Massandra wine.

The list of individual sanctions includes the President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Mikhail Fradkov, FSB director Alexander Bortnikov, Secretary of the Russian Council Nikolai Patrushev, Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Alexander Tkachev.

The day before, the Switzerland government added 26 more people to the sanctions list. The updated list includes persons where the European Union distributed sanctions on July 11 and 26.

European sanctions affect the energy and financial industries, as well as the production of military and dual -use products.

In relation to the defendants in the list, which now includes 87 names and 20 companies, restrictions on financial transactions in Switzerland are introduced. So, they will not be able to transfer assets that they have outside the EU to Switzerland. Swiss financial intermediaries are prohibited from establishing new business relations with included in the list.

At the same time, "existing business relations do not fall under the ban," but it is necessary to inform the authorities about them in order to "if necessary to decide on the use of tougher measures." In addition, all persons who are on the list are prohibited from entering Switzerland.

At the end of July, the United States and the EU significantly expanded sanctions against Russia.
