The President of Russia dismissed 18 high-ranking security officials from their posts. The relevant decrees are posted on the Kremlin website.
Among the dismissed 12 representatives of the Investigative Committee: heads and their deputies of the departments of the Investigative Committee for the Central, Volga, Urals, Northwestern, Far Eastern federal districts, as well as deputy heads for the Siberian and Southern federal districts.
The president also fired :
Deputy Head of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Rostov Region;
Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for Counteracting Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation;
Deputy Commander of the Siberian Regional Command of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;
Deputy Head of the Department of the Federal Drug Control Service for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region;
Deputy Commander of the Joint Group of Forces for Conduct;
counter-terrorist operations on the territory of the North Caucasus region of the Russian Federation of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Putin also dismissed Colonel-General Vladimir Rushailo from military service.
