Leonid Volkov's blog was blocked for a post about the “March for the federalization of Siberia”

At the request of the Prosecutor General's Office, Roskomnadzor blocked the LiveJournal blog of Leonid Volkov, ex-deputy of the Yekaterinburg City Duma and head of the election headquarters of Alexei Navalny.

The reason for the blocking was the publication in LiveJournal about the “March for the federalization of Siberia”.

“Livejounal sent me a notification that my blog was blocked in Russia for a post about the Siberian March,” Volkov wrote on Twitter, attaching a screenshot of the notification from the LiveJournal administration about restricting access to the blog to the post.

The report says that the Prosecutor General's Office sent a request for blocking on August 3, the day the post was published in LiveJournal.

Now Volkov's blog has already been unlocked - the public figure has removed from his note all the details that contain data about the march.

The day before, Roskomnadzor sent a notice to the BBC Russian Service about the need to delete an interview with the Novosibirsk artist Artem Loskutov, who called to come to the action.

Earlier, at the request of the prosecutors, were blocked the pages dedicated to the march, VKontakte and Facebook . 14 sites that reported the event also received a warning, and these posts have been removed. The Prosecutor General's Office demands the removal of materials about the march on the grounds that they contain calls to go to an uncoordinated rally.
