Oleksandr Borodai resigned as prime minister of the proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic. This is reported by the agency "Novorossiya".
The message published on the agency's website says that Alexander Zakharchenko, one of the leaders of the Oplot organization, will take the post of prime minister instead of Borodai. The leadership of the DPR confirmed the message of the resignation of Alexander Borodai.
“I came as a crisis manager when the DNR was in its infancy. Now the DPR is a real state. It has the government, the armed forces. The Republic became a subject of international law. I give way to Alexander Zakharchenko,” Borodai said, stressing that he would remain in Donetsk for the time being. The former prime minister will take up the post of deputy prime minister and adviser to the prime minister.
Despite the fact that earlier today Novorossiya wrote that information about Borodai's departure was just rumors, the ex-premier himself announced the departure on his Twitter. Later, Boroday's Twitter page became unavailable, now the message can only be found in the Google cache .
Talks about changing the leaders of the DPR and DPR have been going on since July 28. Tonight, at a scheduled press conference, Borodai confirmed that he is leaving the post of prime minister of the DPR.
