The Moscow City Court recognized the extension of the arrest of Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov legally, the defense press secretary Jenny Kurpen said. The Judicial Collegium rejected the decision of the Lefortovo Court of Moscow on the extension of the arrest of Sentsov until October 11.
Sentsov said that his detention was justified only by the testimony of "some persons." To date, other reasons for the arrest of Sentsov, except for these testimonies, were not provided. The sufficiency of the data that it was Sentsov committed the crime that had been imputed to him that was not verified by the court. According to the protection, the data that the investigation currently has, is not enough to choose a sensation measure of restraint in the form of detention in the custody.
The director’s defense also called the arrest of Sentsov in Simferopol illegal. Lawyers argued that the decision was made by the illegitimate judge of the Kyiv court with the participation of illegitimate prosecutor and lawyer. In addition, the decision was sealed with a seal of non -existent state education.
The decision of the Moscow City Court will be appealed to the Presidium of the MGS on a cassation manner. “All this resembles 37-38 years,” said lawyer Vladimir Samokhin.
On the eve of the Lefortovo court, on August 18, the director of the director, Kurpen said. The complaints were submitted for non -disclosure of the data of the preliminary investigation selected from the lawyer Dmitry Dinze, and to refuse to provide the protection of part of the criminal case materials necessary for the conduct of a series of research and examinations.
The prosecutor and protection unanimously expressed against the consideration of complaints in the absence of Sentsov, so as not to violate his right to defense. The director was not taken to the court from the pre -trial detention center. The investigator explained this with an too late notification. Dinze noted that his client did not give subscriptions about non -disclosure of the case file, in connection with which he could give various kinds of comments to the press through letters, and also openly perform in court. However, being in Lefortovo means for Sentsov a complete isolation regime, which prevents the protection, the lawyer believes.
The case of the preparation of terrorist attacks in the Crimea is fabricated against Sentsov. Since the end of May , Sentsov has been in the Lefortovo investigative insulator in Moscow. Three more citizens of Ukraine, detained by the FSB officers, - Gennady Afanasyev, Alexei Chirniy and Alexander Kolchenko - are also in custody. The FSB calls them activists of the "Right Sector", but all suspects, as well as numerous witnesses refute their involvement in this organization.
On July 26, Simferopol director, artistic director of the Karman art center Galina Dzhikaeva left the occupied Crimea due to pressure from the FSB officers. Dzhikaev was called for interrogation, at which they stated that she was a defendant in the Sentsov case as the organizer of medical courses that took place on the basis of her center in the spring.
The ECHR filed a complaint about the detention, torture and detention of Sentsov . His release is required by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry and leading filmmakers of Europe.
By a resolution of the investigator Sentsov, he was recognized as a citizen of Russia. The Politzek himself in a court to extend the arrest stated a protest against attempts to deprive him of the citizenship of Ukraine. “I was and is a citizen of Ukraine,” he emphasized. The director also said: “I do not recognize the annexation of Crimea and the military capture of Crimea by the Russian Federation and any agreements that now concludes the illegitimate government of Crimea with the Russian Federation, I consider it not the imprisonment. I am not a serf, I cannot be transferred to the ground” (
