The press service of the administration of the Central District of St. Petersburg "Interfax" reported that Tsoi is shy to be eliminated. “Apparently, they [the authors] had to think in advance and coordinate painting. If it is not agreed, the city will issue a decision to eliminate the drawing, ”the press service explained.
“It would be impossible to agree on this in advance. We arrived to give the city a gift. They want to paint over - let them paint over, we will draw more, ”commented one of the authors of the portrait.
Victor Tsoi died in a car accident on August 15, 1990.
PS according to ITAR-TASS , the acting governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko called the head of the Central District Maria Shcherbakova and asked not to paint a portrait of Tsoi.
