Shareholders of the Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port (NCSP) at a meeting on Wednesday prematurely terminated the powers of Yuri Matvienko as general director of the company and elected Sultan Batov as the new general director, Interfax reports . 82.7% of shareholders were present at the meeting, 75.5% of the total number of registered participants voted for Batov’s candidacy, 24.3% abstained, and the rest were against.

Previously, Batov served as CEO of the Baltic Stevedoring Company, which is part of the NCSP group. “The goals that I see for myself are to consolidate the position of NCSP as the largest stevedore in Russia, to continue the progressive development of port facilities, to reach a new level of quality of service provision, which today leaves much to be desired, to increase transshipment volumes,” Batov said, speaking to shareholders .

Yuriy Matvienko has worked as NCSP General Director since June 18, 2013. He told reporters that he had not yet decided on his next place of work.

Summa and Transneft, through a joint venture, own 50.1% of NMPT. A 20% share belongs to the Federal Property Management Agency (the package is included in the state property privatization plan). NCSP shares are also owned by Russian Railways (5.3%) and Transneft's subsidiary Transneft-Service CJSC (10.5%).
