The leadership of the self -proclaimed "Donetsk People's Republic" was appointed acting "Minister of Defense" by Vladimir Kononov, Interfax reports with reference to a member of the Security Council of the self -proclaimed Republic Sergey Kavtaradze. "Vladimir Kononov is still in the status of the acting Minister of Defense. He should be approved by the Supreme Council. He is a well -known militia," Kavtaradze said.

He also noted that after his resignation from the post of Prime Minister, the DPR continues to deal with the affairs of the self -proclaimed republic and the load did not decrease. However, now he can leave the “DPR” with a “calm heart”, since his place was taken by a “worthy person”.

On August 10, Girkin nominated the ultimatum to the Russian leadership - either he is provided with help, or he is handing over the city of anthracite in the Luhansk region. In addition, he threatened his customers fleeing from Ukraine.
