Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who oversees the military-industrial complex (defense industry) in the government, said that the program for import substitution of components for the Russian “defense” and related industries will be prepared in the coming months, Interfax reports.
“In general, we plan to complete all these decisions in all categories of import substitution by November,” said Dmitry Rogozin at the Technology in Engineering forum as part of the Oboronecspo - 2014 exhibition .
At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed the opinion that the sanctions against defense enterprises in Russia will be imposed “not for three months, as promised”, but, most likely, will be long-term.
In turn, the Deputy Chairman of the Military-Industrial Commission under the Government Oleg Bochkarev, who visited the exhibition "OboronExpo-2014", said that the President of Russia has already approved one program for import substitution of Ukrainian products. In addition, another program for import substitution of US products will appear in the fall. In an interview with Interfax, he admitted that "it will not be easy, but we hope that the accumulated potential will correctly realize this task."
It is noteworthy that at the end of July, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, under the auspices of which develops the import substitution program in the domestic defense and industrial complex, reported the task of reducing the terms of this process from three to four to two or three years.
