Boris Dubin died

Today, August 20, at the age of 67, in a hospital in Moscow, a sociologist, translator and culturologist Boris Dubin died after a serious illness.

As his family told Solta.ru, death occurred at 16:45 Moscow time.

Boris Vladimirovich Dubin was born in 1946 in Moscow, graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Moscow State University (1970) with a degree in Russian language and literature, French.

He was close to the poets of unification, was published in Samizdat. In the open press he began to be published in 1970. He worked in the USSR State Library named after Lenin (1970–1985), the Institute of the Book at the All -Union Book Chamber (1985–1988), from 1988 to 2012 he was an employee of the VTsIOM, (from 2004 - the analytical center of Yuri Levada).

He taught the sociology of culture at the Institute of European Cultures of the Russian State University and the Moscow Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences, was the deputy editor -in -chief of the magazine “Bulletin of Public Opinion” (2006–2012), since 2012 he was part of the editorial board of the magazine “Foreign Literature”.

The first translations of Boris Dubin were published in 1972. He translated the Spanish song lyrics of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, the poetry of the Golden Age, as well as the works of English, French, Latin American and Polish literature.

He compiled and translated the anthology “Space in other words: French poets of the 20th century about the image in art” (2005), the book of chosen poetry and prose Jose Lima Lima “Enchanted Value” (2012). The author of articles on the latest foreign literature, about modern Russian poetry. In 2013, the bail collection was published - poems and selected poetic translations of Boris Dubin from the Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, French, English and Hungarian languages.
