All residents of large cities in the country will receive access to these books, in the institutions of which the program of the National Electronic Library operates, the head of the department of the library of the Department of Science and Education of the Ministry of Combat of the Ministry of Culture Yevgeny Gusev told Izvestia .
“We expect that the most valuable specimens will be digitized as part of the program. She said. “Today, even if you are a researcher, you will not be allowed to old books, because they are all stored in special conditions.”
The remaining books will be included in the register of book monuments, which is annually compiled by the Ministry of Culture. The digitization program is designed until 2020.
“Each large library has a center for working with ancient books, which is engaged in the identification and description of book monuments. This is a fairly serious scientific work. Every year, the score is going on hundreds of new old books, ”explained Evgenia Guseva.
The program for the preparation of the register of book monuments includes central libraries of 45 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. According to the state contract, until December 15, 2014, at least 25 specialists from each region are planned to work with book monuments.
