"The Ambassadors of Poetry": Shineid Morrissi and Stanislav Lviv

In Moscow, as part of the Poetry Ambassador project, with the support of the British Council, the first British-Russian evening will be held with the participation of Shineid Morrissi and the Russian poet and translator Stanislav Lviv. August 21 in Moscow at 19.00 in the library-reader named after I.S. Turgenev will host a new meeting in the framework of the international poetic project “The ambassadors of Poetry”: the British poetess Shineid Morrissi and the Russian poet, prose writer and translator Stanislav Lvovsky will perform in Moscow. Shineid Morrissi is one of the most striking representatives of modern British poetry and laureate of the prestigious literary prize named after T. S. Eliot 2013 . On the evening, excerpts from its last collection “Parallax”, called “genuine triumph” for subtle lyricism, impeccable language and “political, historical and personal ambitiousness” will sound. According to critics, Morrissis “documents what is lost and that everyone is looking”, and her poems come to the reader with the “intimacy of the secret told by the whisper”. From the Russian side, the poet Stanislav Lviv , a poet, translator, prose writer, critic and journalist, laureate of the Moscow Account, the finalist of the prize Andrei Bely, who will read his poems and several translations from the Morrissi Paralyx collection specially prepared as part of the project “The Ambassador of Poems”, will take part in the Russian side. The host of the evening is a critic, a literary figure and head of the institute of the book Alexander Gavrilov. The evening will take place on August 21 in the library-reader. I.S. On August 21, 2014, at 15.00, Shineid Morrissi will hold a seminar on literary skill for young writers, poets, journalists, translators as well as everyone who is interested in the process of creating a literary text. At the master class, Shineid will tell about the secrets of working on his poems, share observations about modern British literature, and will also give practical tips. The seminar will be held at the Institute of Media, Architecture and Design “ Strelka ” (Bersenevskaya Nab, d. 14, p. 5), in English without translation.
