Rospotrebnadzor demanded by Friday to remove the Jack Daniel's whiskey and Bourbon Jim Beam from the sale in the Sverdlovsk region. This is stated in the message posted on Thursday, August 21, on the website of the Sverdlovsk department of the department.
The report notes that the turnover of these drinks was carried out with a marking that does not meet the requirements. In addition, it turned out that Jack Daniel's did not undergo a check for compliance with the Unified Sanitary Rules.
In this regard, the agency ordered retail chains that sold whiskey with violations to withdraw drinks from sale. In addition, administrative cases have been instituted against stores.
The management also notes that it intends to withdraw a declaration of compliance with the Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey, which contains the substances that were uncharacteristic for whiskey. At the same time, the representative of Jack Daniel's earlier said that this drink really contains honey and sugar, but at the same time it is classified as a liquor, and not as whiskey.
The audit conducted by the Ural Rospotrebnadzor against Jack Daniel's and Jim Beam became known on August 14. The department already stated that it found violations in the design of these drinks and threatened them with arrest.
At the same time, shortly before that, Rospotrebnadzor has already banned the import of the American bourbon of Kentucky Gentleman into Russia, in which our harmful substances.
Inspections on American alcohol are held against the backdrop of exacerbation of relations between Moscow and Washington, which has already led to the introduction of mutual sanctions against each other. In particular, Russia banned imports from the United States of a number of products, but alcohol did not fall into number.
