A monument to Astor Pyazzolle will be erected in Buenos Aires

In 2015, the monument to one of the largest Argentinean musicians of the 20th century Astor Pyazzolle (1921-1992) will be opened in the center of Buenos Aires.

The ancestor of the tango style Nuevo, the composer, the arranger and virtuoso of the game in the bandoneon lived in the capital of Argentina for almost his whole life. He called his first symphony "Buenos Aires."

The monument will be erected in the north of the central part of the city, near the University of Buenos Aires and the National Museum of Fine Arts. According to ITAR-TASS , the monument four meters high will be a bandoneon on two rectangular supports. It will be made of stainless steel.

The author of the project was the sculptor Carlos Martinez, who in 2009 won the competition for the creation of a monument.

The name of Astora Piazzoli is named the airport in his hometown of Mar-del pay, but so far there is not a single monument in his honor in Argentina.
