Doctor treated with experimental Ebola serum dies in Liberia

Abraham Borbor, a Liberian doctor infected with the Ebola virus, who was injected with an experimental ZMapp vaccine, has died, Reuters reports, citing Liberian Information Minister Lewis Brown. According to him, Borbor died yesterday in Monrovia.

"This is true. He passed away yesterday,” the minister said.

Abraham Borbor is one of three infected doctors who were injected with an experimental ZMapp serum developed in the US. Brown did not disclose the condition of the other two African doctors receiving treatment.

Last week, it was reported that American doctor Kent Brantley, who was infected with the deadly virus, and his wife, nurse Nancy Rightball, who were also injected with ZMapp, have made a full recovery.

Treatment of humans with ZMapp began at the end of July 2014, before that it had only been tested on monkeys.
