The official representative of the Committee of the Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, Colonel Edward Thomas, also stated that the US authorities are considering the possibility of conducting military operations against the militants of the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq. “We prepare various options for solving the IG problem in Syria and Iraq,” he said. According to him, "it implies a number of military measures, including the application of air strikes" by the positions of extremists.
