The head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, at a meeting with the mufti of Chechnya Salah Mezhiev, called for the clergy to activate the work on the prevention of early marriages that still take place in the republic, the website of the head and government of Chechnya reports.
"It is unacceptable that the girls who are children themselves become young mothers who do not know how to cook, take care of their child. All the clergy, television, radio should be done by the prevention of early marriages. We need to tell the population that marriages in school age are unfavorable for children," Kadyrov said. He noted that thanks to the work of the clergy in the republic, it was possible to get rid of such a phenomenon as the abduction of brides , RIA Novosti reports.
"More recently, cases of abduction of brides in order to marry them were massive in nature. Thanks to the timely measures that the clergy made, such a practice has now been eradicated. We also have practically outlived early marriages. And this issue must be kept in constant control. We must teach young people to protect family values," the head of Chechnya said.
Better later, and better
Recall that the head of Chechnya believes that the polygamy that is legalized in the republic could become a more honest and healthy form of family existence. Therefore, Kadyrov has been advocating for the legitimization of polygamy on the territory controlled by him, explaining it quite peculiarly: "It is better than throwing a family and starting lovers. This is more correct for a man than to humiliate his wife, you have a lover, give a prostitute jewelry, all sorts of gifts, and a wife with children in constant need."
In April 2009, the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation spoke out for holding public hearings on the problem of resolving polygamy in connection with the corresponding initiative of Kadyrov.
In 2006, the Supreme Mufti of the Central Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of Russia Talgat Tajuddin announced the full support of Ramzan Kadyrov’s proposal for the introduction of polygamy, noting that "this would help to solve the problem of stabilizing society." And the legislative resolution of polygamy, in the opinion of Mufti, would solve the demographic problem in Russia.
