Corinthia Hotels has announced the appointment of Jesper Henriksen as General Manager of the five-star Corinthia St. Petersburg Hotel.

Dane Jesper Henriksen has made a career in the international hotel business, working in nine cities around the world for over 30 years. Before arriving in St. Petersburg, he held the position of general manager of the Radisson Royal Hotel in Moscow, located in one of the legendary Stalinist skyscrapers.

Mr. Henriksen was born in 1967, and began working in the hotel business from his early youth - in 1980 as a bellman in one of the hotels in Denmark. At the age of 26, he already held the position of senior sales manager.

His career path in the hotel industry led him to Radisson in 1997, where, starting as director of sales at a hotel in Abu Dhabi (UAE), he received his first assignment as general manager of the hotel in 2002. Radisson" in Antwerp (Belgium). Over the next 12 years, he held positions of general manager in hotels of this chain in Brussels, Paris, Johannesburg and Moscow.

Jesper Henriksen has a solid education in business management. In 1989 he graduated from the International Business College in Kolding (Denmark), and in 1991 he received a diploma from the Schiller International University in Paris with a degree in business management and marketing. In 2008, he completed a course at Cornell University in Ithaca (USA) in the program for general managers of hotels.

Mr. Henriksen is married and has a daughter. In addition to his native Danish, he speaks fluent English, German and French.

Taking up the position of General Manager of the Corinthia Hotel, Jesper Henriksen will lead the operations of one of the leading five-star hotels in St. Petersburg, with more than 300 employees under his command. “I see joining Corinthia St. Petersburg as an important step in my career in the hotel business,” he says. “I believe that my values coincide with the philosophy of Corinthia and my previous experience working in one of the largest hotels in Moscow will be useful in my new role.”

The Corinthia St. Petersburg Hotel was acquired by the Corinthia group of companies in 2002 and expanded and modernized in 2009 as a result of a large-scale investment project.
