The seven NATO countries will soon announce the creation of new united expeditionary response forces, ITAR-TASS reports with reference to the Financial Times.
According to the publication, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Norway and the Netherlands will be involved in the composition of these forces along with Great Britain. Participation in the Canadian project is also possible.
In the light of the NATO summit in Wales on September 4-5, British Prime Minister David Cameron will announce the new structure of the alliance countries consisting of at least 10 thousand troops, the publication notes. It describes measures as a response to Russia's actions in relation to Ukraine.
The new combined expeditionary forces, as expected, will include units of the Air Force, the Navy and the Ground Forces. They should be prepared for rapid deployment and "regular, frequent teachings." The command is supposed to be assigned to representatives of the UK.
At the same time, "the model will be the joint expeditionary forces of Great Britain and France, which should achieve full combat readiness for 2016," said FT.
