So that the trees do not plant

In the forest near the village of Zeleny, near Moscow in the Noginsky district, near the old Kupavna, work began on the construction of a 17-storey building on the territory of the local forest.

Defenders of the forest, for several years now fighting with the developer, stood in the way of technology, tried to prevent the construction of the fence. This is the only forest near their village, and if the construction of the house, as well as the kindergarten and the monument begins, the entire forest will be cut down. As the chairman of the initiative group of the village of Zeleny Marina Chashchina, the ChoP employees began to expel all the residents, including women and the elderly, told the OTD-Info. Her husband Ivan Chashchina and another forest defender Galina Ustyugova beat her husband. They knocked the chain to the ground, beat their feet on the head, at Ustyugova also tried to take away and break the video camera. One more defender of the forest, Nina Nazarova, according to Chashchina, in her arms bruises - the guards dragged her from the fence. Got the chashchina itself.

At the same time, as the chairman of the initiative group says, the entire Kupavinsky police department, headed by the chief and half the police department of the city of Noginsk, led by the deputy head, was on the spot. However, the police, according to her, simply stood, making nothing, and some police officers gave instructions that the defenders of the forest were thrown away and beat.

Representatives of the Public Chamber of the Noginsky municipal district arrived in the place. According to Chashchina, the workers do not have any documents for the implementation of construction work or even the construction of a fence.

Currently, heavy rain began and everyone left the forest except activists who called an ambulance to remove beatings. “While we defended the forest,” says Chashchina. “But I almost have no doubt that tomorrow or the day after tomorrow everything will begin again.”

On August 21, the Public Chamber of the Moscow Region held a round table in order to reconcile the administration of Staraya Kupavna, supporting construction, and the local population. A meeting was led by a member of the Commission of the Chamber on Ecology, Nature Management and Preservation of the Forests Elena Grishina, was present by the head of the Old Kupavna administration Igor Sukhin, his deputy Alexander Shuit, chairman of the board of the Youth House-developer Nikolai Sharaponov. According to Chashchina, it was possible to agree that a special commission would gather and decide whether it was possible to conduct construction in the forest.

Chashchina also said that on August 31, activists agreed with Elena Grishina that on September 13, on a single day of the landing of trees under the program of the Governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov, they would plant trees in the forest, at the place where construction is planned. Grishina asked residents to write a statement in the name of Sukhin so that he would allocate an inventory for them. On September 1, residents handed the letter to the administration. “And today they began to destroy the forest so that the 13th residents could not plant trees,” says the activist.

According to Chashchina, people are brought to despair and are ready to block the Gorky highway, because they no longer know who to complain.

In January 2013, the defender of the forest in Old Kupavna, the deputy of the village of Zeleny Lyudmila Garifulina was attacked : she was inflicted heavy stab wounds, and she miraculously survived.
