5 years Beslan

On September 1, 2004, the world shuddered from news from North Ossetia. For 54 hours, the militants held 1128 people in the school building. Then there was a storm: 331 people died, more than 700 - injured. Among the dead - 172 children. Parents and relatives of the victims created the organization "Voice of Beslan": they require the authorities an objective investigation of the causes of the tragedy. The Kremlin prefers them not to notice. During the visit of Dmitry Medvedev to North Ossetia * * On August 8, 2009, you tried to meet with the president. What did you want to ask him about? The guard did not let us in to him then, and one of them said: “What are you running behind the president, it would be better to hire a killer.” I don’t know what he meant. After that story, we sent our statement to him by mail, 254 people subscribed to the blog. The Voice of Beslan delegated three people to Moscow, and we turn to the president to accept them in any of these three tragic days. Enough of empty words of condolences, we need specific actions to solve problems.

Firstly, we demand an investigation of the tragedy. Secondly, we have proposals for the program for helping the victims of the attacks. And thirdly, we insist on adopting a law on the status of victims of the attack. We sent letters to adopt this law to all power bodies, and on the eve of this anniversary - and to the parliaments of all republics of the North Caucasus.

What should be spelled out in this law? These are social issues: free treatment for all those in need, providing sanatoriums, pensions to the parents of the dead, free travel to students - former hostages - to the place of study and to parents in the region, free travel to the places of treatment.

Are you hoping to achieve something-after all your experience of these five years? All the same, you have to fight for your rights. Imagine: there was a terrorist attack, people buried their children and - what? Dismiss, close, as if nothing happened? Is it right: forget the grief? To pretend that burning people and shooting children from tanks is normal? And if, God forbid, this will happen somewhere else? And again - flamethrowers? That's why we continue to fight.
