Donatas Banionis died

Today, September 4, in Vilnius at the age of 90, the Lithuanian actor and theater director Donatas Banionis died.

According to Delfi.lt with reference to the actor’s family, he had a stroke a few days ago, he died in the hospital.

Donatas Banionis was born in 1924 in Kaunas, studied at a craft school, and at the same time was engaged in drama circle. In 1940, he moved to Panezhezhis, where he was admitted to the troupe of the theater created by Yuozas Miltinis. After his death in 1980, Banionis became the chief director of the Panevezes theater and headed it until 1988.
