Seven NATO countries agreed to create a quick response forces

The seven NATO countries - the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania signed an agreement on the intention to create the United Military Forces of a quick response. It is reported by ITAR-TASS with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Estonia. The agreement was concluded during the summit of the North Atlantic Alliance in Wales.

Formation is supposed to be created over the next few years. It will include both ground, naval and military units. Its task will be a quick response in military threats against any of the NATO members, as well as in cases of natural disasters and humanitarian crises. “The creation of such troops is a specific step towards increasing NATO capabilities to respond to events,” Sven Mixer, Minister of Defense of Estonia, noted in connection with the signing of the agreement.
