In Ufa, unknown for the second time in a year set fire to the camp of the local protest movement "Anticonoshpan". This time, the camp of opponents of the construction of the Kronoshpan woodworking plant under the capital of Bashkiria burned almost to the ground, the Bashmedia news agency reports.

This is not the first case of arson of the camp of eco -defenders trying to prevent the emergence of production, which, in their opinion, will cause great damage to the Ecology of Ufa and its environs, as it will lose harmful waste into the river. Participants in the movement have no doubt that in this way, “interested” persons are trying to get rid of them when law enforcement condenses.

Last time, the tent camp was set on fire in June, when its inhabitants conducted an indefinite hunger strike. Then the fire was noticed in time and eliminated on their own - the fire only managed to damage the home -made bath and an impromptu toilet.

The investigation team came to the place of arson, collected material evidence, interviewed witnesses. Protesters told the security forces the signs of a man who set fire to their camp, as well as the brand and color of the machine on which he moved. However, the investigation on that case, according to eco -defenders, is not underway.

At that time, the protesters decided that they tried to intimidate them. “Our public protest is unprofitable, for them we are like a bone in the throat,” said Anticronoshpan.

It is worth recalling that last fall, a hundred Bashkir public activists tried to resign the head of the republic Rustem Khamitov through the court, accusing him of violating the local constitution and a number of federal laws - from unjustified budget expenditures to the destruction of forests and water poisoning in the river.

In particular, the plaintiffs pointed out that on August 17, 2012, Khamitov signed an investment agreement with the Austrian company Kronospan, allowing the construction of a large enterprise for woodworking and production of building materials, which will discharge harmful waste into the Ufimka River, although public hearings were not held on this issue. According to the agreement, the company was supposed to earn in 2014.

However, the regional Armed Forces refused to consider this lawsuit by motivating this by the fact that "citizens cannot demand the departure of the head of the region, since he was appointed president, and not elected in the elections," the agency of the Ufa Topic reported.

Nature defenders were attacked in other regions. So, in May 2013, in the Novokhopersky district of the Voronezh region, guards hired by the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UMMC) were brutally beaten by several activists from a peaceful protest camp at the Elanskoye field. And in November of the same year, serious clashes of the Chopovtsy UMMK with local residents and Cossacks, protesting against Nickel’s extraction in this deposit, occurred there.

In 2007, in the city of Angarsk Irkutsk region, opponents of the creation of the Angarsk Electrolysis Chemical Combine of the International Nuclear Center for the Enroding of Uranus (MCOU) were attacked on the camp of the FSUE. The scandalous of the emergency was given by the fact that one of the attackers was the son of the co -chair of the local environmental organization from among the organizers of this camp.
