Kafelnikov became a candidate for inclusion in the International Hall of Glory of Tennis

Russian Evgeny Kafelnikov was one of the candidates for the inclusion of tennis in the International Hall of Glory in 2015, the official website of the Organization of the International Tennis Federation.

Two -time winners of the Grand Slam tournaments of the Frenchwoman Marie Pierce and Amelie Morozho, as well as the Spaniard Sergio Bruger, who are a two -time winner of the French open championship, claim to get into the Glory Hall.

The ceremony at which the winners will be declared will be held on July 18, 2015 in American Newport.

The 40-year-old tiles are the most titled tennis player in our country. He became the first Russian who managed to win the tournament from the Grand Slam series (Roland Garros-1996). Eugene also won the Australian Open in 1999.

On May 3, 1999, Kafelnikov became the first “racket” of peace. In total, in his career, he won 26 Asia -Pacific tournaments in solitary and 27 in a paired category. Eugene, who completed his career in 2003, is also the 2000 Olympic champion.
