The attack on Donetsk Airport was repelled, announced the ATO press center

The Ukrainian military managed to reflect the assault on the separatists of the international airport in Donetsk, announced the press center of the anti-terrorist operation on his Facebook page. Earlier, the media, citing eyewitnesses, reported that the territory was fired from Grad, local residents hid from shelling in the basement.

"On September 12 at 19:30, a large group of militants, with the support of six tanks, began the assault on the Donetsk airfield. The attack was heroically repelled by the military, which defend this important object," the ATO press center announced.

According to the Ukrainian military, the airport was fired several times from artillery and grenade launchers. The losses are not reported.

Earlier, local residents reported that the blows of rocket systems "Grad" were applied to the strategic object from the village of Yakovlevka and the Kirovsky coal field, the Russian Air Force Service reports.
