Baumgertner was released from house arrest on bail

The Basmanny Court of Moscow released the former CEO of Uralkalia Vladislav Baumertner from house arrest on bail in the amount of 15 million rubles. The decision was made on September 1, Anna Fadeeva, press secretary of the Basmanny Court, told Interfax. The investigation petitioned for a change in the preventive measure.

Representatives of Uralkali and Baumertner lawyers do not comment on his release.

Earlier, the current general director of the company Dmitry Osipov said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal that he had already met with Baumertner after his release. However, according to him, it is so far to be premature to discuss the return of the former top manager to Uralkali.

Uralkali has not yet planned to restore partnership with Belarus for sale in the global potassium fertilizer market, Osipov also noted. According to him, there were no negotiations since April on this issue with the Belarusian side, at present there are also no new meetings planned.

On August 26 last year, Baumgertner was detained in Minsk after a meeting with the Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich against the backdrop of the termination of cooperation of Uralkali with Belaruskali. Then the Belarusian law enforcement agencies called the amount of damage of $ 100 million. In October, the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said that his country is ready to transfer to Russia the arrested Baumerther, if he compensates for the damage .

At the end of November last year, Baumertner was delivered from Belarus to Moscow and placed in an investigative insulator. However, then the Moscow Basmanny Court changed the measure of restraint for house arrest . The term of arrest, several times extended, ended on October 14. Until that time, the investigation was extended.

On April 18, the Investigative Committee of Belarus transferred a criminal case against Baumertner and the former co -owner of Uralkalia Suleiman Kerimov in Russia. According to the head of the Main Directorate for the Investigation of Crimes in Organized Crime and Corruption of the Investigative Committee of Belarus Sergey Vorobyov, such a decision was made due to the fact that all the accused are Russian citizens and are on its territory. At the same time, Vorobyov noted that the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic is working on the preparation and presentation of claims in the framework of this case. According to him, the amount of damage is more than 90 million dollars.

Against the backdrop of a conflict with the Belarusian authorities, Kerimov began to receive offers for the sale of 21.75 percent of Uralkali shares. As a result, the package was bought by the "ONEXIM" Mikhail Prokhorov . The new shareholder of the company also became Dmitry Mazepin Uralhim.
