Electric Nissan Leaf turned into a pickup (video)

A unique version of Nissan Leaf was created in the United States: engineers from the Nissan Technical Center in Arizona decided to turn a popular electric hatchback into a pick -up called Sparky, Drom.ru reports.

An unusual car is not just a creative experiment. Electro draw will be used to transport goods and people through the territory of a technical center located on a plot of more than 1200 hectares and having several testing grounds.

The authors of the resonant project are Arnold Muline and Rolan Schellenberg. According to them, the work took several months, during which engineers worked out different options for execution of the cargo compartment, trying to keep their idea a secret.

As a result, the Nissan Frontier pickup body was taken as a sample (also known as Nissan Navara). The engineers did not touch the technical part of the Nissan Leaf, so the pickup has remained completely electric.

Atypical pickups based on cars are the favorite entertainment of American enthusiasts. One of the most memorable projects in this area is the Deep Orange car from students of the Clemson University of California: they turned the BMW X3 SUV into a pickup, making a car similar to a fashionable "tramoid" X4 crossover. At the same time, in addition to the concept itself, the modernization program was developed: according to the calculations of the group of creators, you can release up to five thousand such pickups and the difference in cost compared to ordinary X3 will not exceed eight thousand dollars.
