The second Moscow marathon ended with the victory of Kenyan athlete Kibet Barshtuni. The African overcame the distance of 42 km 195 m in 2 hours 17 minutes 20 seconds.

This is not the first victory of Kibet on the Russian land. In June 2014, he won the White Nights marathon, held in St. Petersburg.

More than 12 thousand athletes took part in the Moscow marathon. Five thousand overcame the main distance - 42 km 195 meters, and the remaining - ten -kilometer.

The starting and finish area of ​​both distances was located on the territory of the Luzhniki Olympic complex. The prize fund of the marathon was preserved at the level of last year - 1 million 690 thousand rubles. The winners of the marathon will receive valuable prizes - an expensive watch with diamonds.

The route of the main marathon passed along the main embankments, streets and boulevards of the capital, past the Stalinist skyscrapers and Moscow City, along the garden ring and color boulevard, through the Crimean bridge and the Chinesegorodsky passage, along the dividing Tverskaya street and under the walls of the Kremlin.

In connection with the marathon, the automobile traffic in the center of Moscow in the first half of Sunday was limited.

In the satellite race, 10 kilometers first came to the finish line Rinas Akhmadeev and Irina Sergeeva, who also received cash prizes of 50 thousand rubles.
